Autumn is a colourful bridge October 31, 2008

It’s grey outside.  Very grey.  But at least I have the brilliant red autumn trees in my back yard to rest my eyes on before my gaze moves upwards to the grey sky.  Autumn, filled with colour, texture, crunchy leaves underfoot.  Is autumn a colourful bridge into winter, to keep us visually sated until the Christmas lights go up?  If so, yay autumn!  I don’t recall how we made it through winter in Australia, as Christmas is June/July/August – no Christmas lights then.  Perhaps winter wasn’t so grey, though I recall it was in Melbourne.  Roll on North American Christmas!
